Early detection

Early detection

Cervical cancer is curable if detected early. In Germany, about 3,800 women are diagnosed with this cancer each year, while globally the figure is around 500,000. Half of these women die from the consequences. These numbers could be drastically reduced because the precursors to cervical cancer can be identified and treated before they become cancerous. The colposcope is the most important diagnostic tool in this process.

The Colposcope as an Early Warning System

Colposcopy reveals what the naked eye cannot see. Pre-invasive changes in the cervical epithelium display characteristic patterns under magnification: atypical vessels, mosaic, punctuation, and aceto-white epithelium. These signs indicate whether a lesion is benign or tends towards a precancerous stage.

The green filter plays a crucial role in vascular assessment. It enhances the contrast of blood vessels, making their architecture clearly visible. Normal vessels show a regular pattern, whereas atypical vessels are irregular, corkscrew-like, or abruptly ending. This distinction can be life-saving.

The use of acetic acid (3-5%) is standard in colposcopy. It leads to a reversible coagulation of cell proteins, making dysplastic areas visible as white regions. Under the colposcope, the boundary between normal and altered epithelium becomes distinctly recognisable.

The three-dimensional representation through the binocular system allows for the assessment of surface structures and elevations. Flat lesions differ from exophytic tumours, and the depth of an erosion becomes assessable. This spatial information is indispensable for therapy planning.

Early Detection Saves Lives

Pre-invasive changes can be treated, invasive carcinomas often cannot. The colposcope makes the difference visible and allows for intervention at the right moment.

Green Filter for Vascular Assessment

The swing-in green filter enhances the contrast of blood vessels. Atypical vascular patterns become clearly visible, making the distinction between benign and suspect lesions more precise.

Three-Dimensional Representation

The binocular system provides a spatial image. Surface structures, elevations, and depressions become assessable, allowing for estimation of lesion depth.

LEDone Daylight Quality

The colour temperature of the LED lighting corresponds to daylight. Tissue changes are shown in natural colours, redness, and discolourations are accurately reproduced.

Attractive Price-Performance Ratio

The KP 3000 offers professional colposcopy at a price that is affordable for smaller practices. Quality without compromise.
