The Kaps SOM® 42 was specially developed for integration into your existing practice equipment. Thanks to the innovative modular design, you can configure the colposcope exactly to your individual requirements and preferences.

The outstanding optical quality sets new standards in gynecological diagnostics: Brilliant, three-dimensional images and an exceptional depth of field support you in precise diagnosis. The ergonomic design ensures fatigue-free working even with intensive use.

Maximum flexibility is offered by the versatile mounting system: The SOM® 42 can be easily mounted on the right or left side of all common examination chairs and couches. This allows the colposcope to adapt optimally to your practice procedures – not the other way around.

Space-optimized mounting solutions

Multi-directional brackets enable tool-free left/right mounting on common treatment chairs, offering exceptional adaptability to different practice configurations. The sophisticated mounting system can be reconfigured in just a few steps without additional tools, allowing the bracket to be flexibly adapted to changing room conditions or treatment procedures. The main module weighs only 24 kg and offers 40 mm focusing depth for precise adjustment, ensuring an optimal balance between stability and handling. Despite its comparatively low weight, the robust construction ensures reliable positioning even with frequent use. The generous focusing depth allows the user to make precise adjustments while maintaining the optimal working distance.

Optical precision and ergonomics

The Kaps SOM 42 colposcope impresses with its convergent beam path, which enables fatigue-free working over longer periods. With an optimal working distance of 300 mm, it offers sufficient freedom of movement for examinations and procedures. The plastic, three-dimensional image ensures a spatial representation that is essential for precise diagnoses. Adjustable eyepieces allow individual compensation for nearsightedness or farsightedness.

LED technology and equipment details

The high-quality LED lighting achieves an illuminance of 45,000 lux at an optimal color temperature of 5,700 Kelvin and ensures excellent contrast. With a power consumption of only 10 W, the system is particularly energy-efficient, while the long LED service life makes lamp changes unnecessary. The integrated green filter optimizes vascular observation for vascular diagnostics.
